FAQ
California privacy applicability creates the same set of questions over and over: are we actually in scope, do exemptions take us out, what rights are relevant, and what do we need to stand up operationally? This FAQ answers those operator questions directly, without pretending the answer is always a clean yes or no. Use it alongside the checker when you need context for a verdict or a list of what to verify next.
Who should use this?
Operators, legal ops, compliance owners, founders, or RevOps leads who need a fast triage answer before spinning up a full privacy program.
What laws does this cover?
This first version is focused on California CCPA as amended by CPRA. It does not try to collapse other state privacy laws into the same result.
Why might I get needs review?
Because the facts may be incomplete, an exemption may only apply to some records, or the business structure may require a narrower legal read.
Does this handle consumer rights workflows?
It summarizes likely rights and next steps, then points you into an operational handoff. It does not itself process consumer requests.
